Through a partnership system of parks, refuges, museums, historic sites and water trails spanning the watershed, the Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network helps the American public access, enjoy, understand and appreciate the natural, cultural, historic and recreational resources and values of the Chesapeake and its rivers and engage in their stewardship.
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is dedicated to furthering an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the culture and maritime heritage of the Chesapeake Bay and its environs. To fulfill our Mission, the Museum strives to be a premier museum, excelling in communicating to the public the history and culture of one of America’s major maritime regions—the Chesapeake Bay.
Historic St. Mary's City is an exciting mix of colorful living history and fascinating archaeology, all set in a beautiful tidewater landscape. Lord Baltimore's 17th-century capital stands ready to be rediscovered.

The purpose of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland is to serve as a forum for the resolution of region-wide issues and the attainment of regional goals. The Tri-County Council is a partnership of State and local government established more then forty years ago as the regional development and planning organization for Southern Maryland.
